Monocouche Render
Monocouche is a through-coloured, single-coat render applied by hand or machine. It requires a stable, level platform at the correct height for the renderer to apply and scratch the material in one continuous operation. We position platforms to allow the renderer to work in horizontal bands without repositioning ladders.
Silicone & Acrylic Render
Silicone and acrylic renders are typically applied as a finish coat over a base coat or EWI system. They require a clean, stable platform and protection from contamination from above. We provide debris netting and sheeting where required to protect the finished surface.
External Wall Insulation (EWI) Systems
EWI systems involve fixing insulation boards to the external wall, applying a base coat and mesh, and finishing with a render or silicone coat. The scaffold needs to support the weight of the insulation boards and give the installer access to fix them at the correct height. We provide loading bays and wide platforms for EWI installations.
Sand & Cement Render
Traditional sand and cement render is heavy and requires a stable platform that can support the weight of the material and the operative. We provide five-board platforms and loading bays for sand and cement rendering jobs.
Lime Render
Lime render is used on older properties and listed buildings. It requires careful application in thin coats and a scaffold that gives the renderer close, stable access to the wall surface. We have experience of scaffolding lime render projects on period properties across Kent.
Tyrolean, Pebbledash & Machine-Applied Render
Tyrolean and pebbledash finishes require a scaffold that gives the renderer stable access across the full elevation. Machine rendering requires a hose run from the pump to the working platform — we plan the scaffold to allow the hose to run cleanly without kinking or creating a trip hazard, and position the pump location at the quotation stage.
Platform Design for Rendering
The platform height for rendering is critical. The renderer needs to be able to apply material at chest height and reach up to the soffit without overreaching. We position the first platform to suit the ground-floor elevation and add lifts at the correct intervals for the renderer to work efficiently up the building. Boards need to be positioned close to the wall to prevent render dripping onto the scaffold below and to give the renderer a stable, close working position.
